The government yesterday said that it will amend the law to safeguard the interest of consumers, including online shoppers.

The changes will come in the three-decade-old consumer protection laws and e-commerce shops and service providers would be held accountable for various acts.

Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan said amendments to the Act have already been finalized.
