Late but justice not denied!

Here’s a perfect example of how a consumer complaint filed in 2007 finally concluded at the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Puducherry.

The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed the Electricity Department to refund the excess amount charged from a consumer and also ordered compensation besides the litigation cost. S.Rajasekar, a Government employee found in July 2007 that the electricity meter at his quarter was not functioning properly. He immediately intimated the same to the concerned meter reader of the Electricity Department. Full Report

We are not saying that justice has not been served, but if you look at how long this case has dragged on for about 7 years is simply incredible. Kudos to Mr. Rajasekar for the relentless efforts he put into in pursuing the matter. Hopefully, the Electricity Dept will not appeal any further in higher courts.

    Congratulations to Rajasekar. You showed that consumers must have the guts to fight on despite our courts failure to deliver justice in timely manner.
