I was cut open to deliver my baby even though there was no medical necessity. It was a long, painful and depressing recovery for me.
Like me, lakhs of Indian women are misled and manipulated so that hospitals can make more money.
Sign my petition here and ask the Government to direct all hospitals to declare the percentage of cesarean sections they conduct.
The World Health Organization says that only 10-15% of all deliveries should be cesarean sections. In India that number is as high as 58% in Tamil Nadu and 74.8% in urban Telangana.
There is direct correlation between these shockingly high numbers and the fact that cesarean sections cost more than natural deliveries.
Robert, childbirth can be life-affirming yet overwhelming. If doctors are taking critical decisions based on how much money they will make, how can mothers trust them?
Make it mandatory for all hospitals to declare number of Caesarean deliveries #SafeBirth.
Help me bring accountability to this system. Sign my petition Here.
